Dane's departure

August 16, a BIG day in the Yorba Linda Hoban house. Dane was packed up and ready to go. First stop at nan & Papa Tom's for breakfast and goodbyes. Tom give Dane some fatherly college advice "Don't do anything I wouldn't do" Just kidding.....l Dad, Dane & Mom

The Hoban's with the newest nephew Tibor, really Dane told his mom "here's s new one for you to use as a substitute"

Dane & Tibor, when he comes back for Thanksgiving they will have both changed so much.

Off to the plane, on to the new dorm room. Meet Dane's room mate Vince. He comes from Granite Bay in Northern Cal, speaks french, plays the trombone in the SMU band & is enrolled in the engineering program.

So the parental units got him all moved in & registered. Dane is taking french, film, physiology, (3rd quarter)econ & scuba. Dane & Vince are in the Hilltop Scholar Dorm. I hope it's not a long walk to classes. Now, after 3 days, it's time for mom & dad to go home (I remember that day, cried all the way home)


so one last goodbye........ they are very proud of their young man, now hes on his own walk through this world.

See you in November Dane, can't wait to hear all the stories.

Dan & Judith's SoCal weekend

Dan & Judith drove down for a family weekend, they went to the OC Fair, then dinner with the Yorba Linda Hoban's. On Saturday Dan got in some "guy time" helping dad with the stairs on the hill. We were teasing them they only came down for their baby fix, to meet Master Tibor. Then as in any Hoban gathering there are plenty of babies to get held & passed around, so here's Mom & Dan in the kitchen:

Like I said more than enough babies to share. The food as always was wonderful, thanks Margie for all the yummy deserts, see you all at the next event.

Today, Monday Aug 16 Dane left for college in Texas, he will be back at Thanksgiving to share all the stories of freshmen life in SMU. Good luck Dane, can't wait to hear your stories.

Note about Nick

to keep everyone updated:
Yes Nick is still at the Eakles BUT he has been working 2 jobs these past 5 weeks, so we haven't seen much of his smiling face. When they let him go at OK Skate it didn't take him long to find another gig, 2 of them in fact. He worked the OC Fair again this year starting on July 16, then On Monday July 19 he started at Forever 21 in the corporate offices in downtown LA. So he has been VERY busy, however the fair closed today, now maybe his life will even out a little. Like his parents the Eakles are very proud of how this young man is making his way in SoCal.

Colleen also asked me to post that Adrienne & Scott are expecting Sept 15, but as KD can tell you you take your deliveries when they come & sometimes its a little early.

Tibor Buyan Molnar arrived 8-9-10
At 12:36 am
He is 8lbs 6oz and 21.5 inches

Tibor is a Hungarian name meaning “sacred place”, it’s kind of a long explanation but it would have been Tibi’s real name had he been born in Hungary, but he was born in Romania so the government would only allow the Romanian form of the name – Tiberiu. Tibi is a shorter form or nick name of Tiberiu and Tibor so when he came to this country as a child his parents let him choose his legal name and he went with Tibi.

Buyan is the last name of my Godfather who was very important in my life and died two years ago from lung cancer.

We will most likely call him T.B. so his name sounds like his daddy’s and is initials like his mommy’s! That was the plan- we’ll see how confusing it gets in the house the two TBs!" (having lived in a house with 2 sets of two, it only gets really complicated when the phone rings)

Congratulations Molnar family, we are happy to welcome Master T.B. to the family.

Anniversary

Aug 16, happy anniversary to Shawn & Marietta. A major move to the east coast, a new baby (or 2) a new house & job. Now a major move back to the west coast. Lots happening in your lives, many more blessing to come, enjoy your special day.
