Aunt Marion's here

Aunt Marion got off the plane on Saturday (2-20) and stepped up Mom & Dad's social schedule. This weekend is filled with visiting family. On Friday, they(Dad, Mom & Marion) were going to the Shannon's for their Feb dinner of the month club. On Saturday the Ed Hoban's were coming up to spend some time with them, with Cami & Bri going home with the parents. On Sunday it's the La Mirada theater in the afternoon. Then somehow they(Mom & Marion) will hook up with Margie and hand off Bri, then continue on to San Diego to return Cami. On Monday evening Aunt Marion is visiting Braden's First Communion Class. Man, and this is only her first weekend in town... I talked to Dad about the bread deliveries. Jan had a loaf of white sandwich bread and 2 different kinds of fruit/nut breads. Feb's delivery, they were expecting it any day should be something with cherries in it.

Are you ready for some corned beef? Can't wait to see you all at the gathering March 14.

Duggan's doings: 1st birthday

for her 1st birthday, Duggan spent the weekend with a few cousins at the up house in Big Bear. I scooped these of facebook so everyone could see them.

Hartwicks Happenings: Kent

Kent's team has a championship basketball game this friday night, in Reno, if they win they will play on saturday evening too. On the collage front, he applied to 3 schools and was accepted at all 3. His mom says he's leaning towards Long Beach, looking at something in engineering. His graduation date is June 4.

More Dane & info

I wanted to let you know that Miss Kaia, 6yr, has broken her arm again. Same arm, same spot. Daddy was playing with the kids teaching them touch football in the back yard, she triped over a mound of dirt. So twice in 1 year, she keeps this up she'll have to learn to write with her left hand.

Dane's doings!

Dane has sent out quite a few (12) collage apps, he's in a holding pattern right now as the offers roll in. He has been accepted at UW, University of Washington and SMU, the Southern Methodist University in Texas, soon he will make his decision, we'll keep you posted.

Meanwhile his high school tennis season starts next weekend, 2-27, and its only 6 weeks long. Call Cheryl for a schedule if you want to watch him play.

On another note: This is the year for big birthdays, yesterday 2-17, Shawn turned 30. Tommorrow 2-19, Miss Duggan turns 1. Happy birthday to you both enjoy your parties...

Nick also has some news, he has a new job. Doing what he loves to do. Taking photos of guys skateboarding, and stuff like that. He is the on site, go to guy for the new company OK Skate in Ontario. He will be building the web site and catalog. So he's a 9 to 5'er now. Good luck Nick.

Shawn's reno

This is what the kitchen looked like when Shawn & Marietta bought their house (July 08). For the last few weeks he has been updating it. Changing from electric to gas & new appliances. As all you homeowners know, any reno project is a labor of love, but it always goes faster when you have helpers.

getting rid of the z-brick was a real chore, he ended up replacing the drywall.

This is what it looks like almost finished. Just need to get the doors back on again. Marietta is VERY happy to have her new stove. Anyone looking for a 1970's avacado oven? going cheap on creigs list.

Hartwick Happenings:

This weekend, on SuperBowl Sunday, Rolland turned 21! Haven't heard any news on how his birthday went but I'm sure he had a great game day.

Kenton had a birthday too, he turned 18 on friday the 5. That night he started the game, took three charges with 10 assists. They won by 1 point. Happy birthday Kent!

His last game of the season is on Tuesday the 9, same day as his parents 25th anniversay. WOW, Wishing you guys all the best for the next 25.

The last note is the most important to Mr Nolan, he got his drivers licence. Now hes driving to school on his own. Welcome to the road, please be safe.

Dad's update

Dad wants to report that his most recent visit to UCLA on Monday, Feb 1 , was uneventful. Xray and blood work were all OK. A small spot on his arm determined to be pre-cancerous by a previous biopsy, was treated by freezing. Next visit in four months. Yea Dad, keep up the good health.

This years parental Christmas gift is the monthly dinner and the bread of the month club. January was Jerome, Lisa & family. With Febuary at the Shannon's. Updates later on how the bread is working.

We'll have to get an update on the popcorn challenge also.
